WAVEL PLAYS INDIAN CARD

In a desperate last ditch effort to become the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan is throwing everything he has behind the 13 Pledges he made to the local Indian Community in the 2015 elections. He knows that with fullIndian backing the prize will be not only the Presidency but the promise of big money in return. To this end he has sacrificed a trusted supporter in Speaker Nicholas Prea and set up young LDS activist Sathya Naidu in the safe LDS district of St. Louis.

This is the first of his 13 pledges made in 2015 ticked off –to elevate members of the Indian community to positions of importance. The other pledges are published on this page, and they conclude with the creation of a Raman state. The pledges are listed in a letter which Ramkalawan wrote to the Indian community in Tamil for the election of 2015, translated here in English.

POWER AT ALL COSTS

It was a desperate attempt by the LDS candidate to use all available methods to try and win the presidential election at all costs, even if it meant putting the sovereignty of our beloved Seychelles in harm’s way. He wanted power no matter what and there was no length he wouldn’t go to achieve this objective. However, Wavel still lost the presidential election in 2015.In his letter to the local Indian community it was clearly stated that he would appoint persons from the local Indian commune in positions of power. But although LDS won the district elections 15-10 and also won 4 proportional seats, Ramkalawan overlooked the Indian community; broke his promises to them, and didn’t appoint anyone from the Indian community as a proportionally elected member in the National Assembly. The Indian business community was furious and had been saying that they will make him pay atthe next general election. They have been applying pressure on Wavel Ramkalawan to make good on his promises this time around and also with the potential to receive millions in sponsorship money for the forthcoming elections, LDS couldn’t resist the temptation… The LDS has finally succumbed, offering its most secured seat in the whole country to the Indian community, in a move that should now be a very big cause for concern amongst the native LDS supporters. The Seychellois in general doesn’t have a problem with the young man standing as LDS candidate for St. Louis, but the implications that would follow is highly volatile for the sovereignty of the country.

INDIAN ORIGINS

It must not be forgotten that Wavel Ramkalawan has been posturing himself as a Seychellois of Indian origins. In fact he went all the way to Bihar in India to try and convince the world that he had roots in the Indian continent. Whilst, he was there he promised to ratify the agreement to grant India military facilities on (Assumption) one of our islands. Wavel Ramkalawan backed down after the Seychellois people protested over the joint military project on the island with the Indian Military. This latest development at St Louis is one that is grave enough to get the people in Seychelles to start doing some serious thinking on the future of the country. Every big tree starts with a small seed. The seed is now firmly planted in fertile soil. Itis clear that the LDS candidate in St. Louis will now get the backing of the Indian business community in Seychelles, and he is mighty powerful already.
